The Richmond Chamber of Commerce is proud to be part of the Macdonald Avenue Corridor Task Force, established by the Richmond City Council in September 2025 and appointed by Mayor Eduardo Martinez to bring together key stakeholders and decision-makers around the future of the corridor. The task force is charged with delivering recommendations to the City Council spanning short-term improvements like safety and cleanliness, mid-term strategies for business attraction and housing, and a long-term vision for development along the corridor.
Chamber Executive Director Vernon Whitmore represents the business community as part of the task force’s stakeholder group, alongside leaders from organizations like the Richmond Main Street Initiative and the East Bay Center for the Performing Arts.
The Chamber’s involvement reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting Richmond’s business community and helping guide smart, sustainable growth downtown. The task force is set to conclude its work by the end of 2026, or sooner if its objectives are met ahead of schedule.
