REACH is the new chemical compliance system in the European Union (EU). New regulations have a registration deadline of 2018. U.S. exporters find that by using nanomaterials that they are better able to tap into the $250 billion annual European market for high-performing, environmentally efficient products. Yet, the European Union is transforming its regulatory requirements for nanomaterials, and raising potential complications for U.S. businesses. For example, in some cases, following a transition period, U.S. exporters will soon be required to obtain a pre-market authorization before shipping their products to the EU. Export University is a series of courses on exporting designed to help U.S. companies start or sharpen their export focus in order to gain increasing skills and innovation in their overseas activities. This 101 course is also designed for new-to-export firms that would like expert advice on the basics of exporting. Export University instructors are international trade practitioners that are primarily members of the New Jersey District Export Council, a volunteer group of private-sector individuals appointed by the U.
