How can we make our schools stronger? Focus on science and math? Increase access to college and career? West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD) needs your help to shape the future of our schools. You are invited to participate in a town hall meeting to help develop and shape the District’s five-year strategic plan.

Chevron Richmond is a proud sponsor of the planning process, which is designed to:

  • Raise achievement for every district student and close the achievement gap between white and Asian students and their African-American and Latino peers.
  • Incorporate community input and build support from a wide range of residents and stakeholders.
  • Align important programs and efforts (i.e., STEM, Linked Learning, School-based health centers) in one plan.
  • Leverage the investment of philanthropic, social service and other community organizations to ensure that our students have access to all the resources and tools they need to be successful.

The WCCUSD is engaging the community in an unprecedented way and is seeking your voice, ideas, experiences and commitment at a series of six town hall meetings to gather input and understand the priorities of the community.

Providing local students with access to a quality education – particularly in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) – is essential for the future success of our children, our community and our business.

Our investments enable the West Contra Costa County Unified School District to realize its overall strategic vision of improving access to quality education for many students living in Richmond.

We encourage you to participate in this unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping the District’s direction over the next five years. For more information about WCCUSD, visit www.wccusd.net.
