Position: Business Development Strategist

The Light Digital is looking for a skillful, high energy, Business Development Strategist to sell digital marketing and advertising for a family owned, growth oriented media company in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The Light Digital helps business owners find customers. We do this first by assessing and understanding their growth challenges. Then we create imaginative marketing concepts to meet those challenges. Finally, we execute digital marketing and advertising plans to help grow revenue for our clients. By putting our ideas into action, we seek to drive new business for our clients and thereby to improve their lives. Our clients and prospects are located throughout the Bay Area. From our centrally located office in the Hilltop area of Richmond, next to I-80, our team has opportune access to the nine Bay Area Counties.

Qualifications – Education & Experience
Proven capabilities in at least one of the two following areas are required:

Area One: B2B Sales

You have strong expertise at closing deals directly with owners of small and medium-sized businesses (typical employee size 5-75). You understand intimately the sales process, with 2+ years of successful, verifiable B2B sales experience. Your experience can be in any industry, but media sales is a plus. Although you may not yet have mastery of the digital marketing landscape, you know how to sell solutions to businesses. What counts here: you understand how a business owner thinks and how to close a deal.

AND/OR

Area Two: Digital Marketing Knowledge/Experience
You have strong knowledge of digital marketing either by having studied it in college or through relevant and meaningful experience in a creative advertising agency, digital media company, or the digital marketing department of a business. Although you might not yet have deep experience in selling directly to business owners, you understand intimately and authoritatively the digital marketing landscape and how to apply digital tools to attract customers for businesses. What counts here: you have strong digital marketing knowledge relevant to small and medium sized businesses along with a strong desire to sell.

We believe if you have a strong grounding in one of the two areas, we can train you in the other. Strength in both is a plus, but not required.

Position Responsibilities

Outbound Sales: Proactively research, prospect, qualify, and close deals with new prospects.
Create and conduct business meetings with new prospects at their offices.
Generate imaginative, executable and practical marketing ideas for clients, then coordinate the execution of those ideas with our content and advertising teams.
Manage and deepen relationships with client accounts.
Lead client onboarding, customer success, collections, and follow-up.
Uphold the highest standards of personal integrity.
