Chevron is happy to partner for the fifth year with the Bay Area Rescue Mission to host the Back-to-School Block Party celebration for Richmond students and families. Students who come to the block party will receive free school supplies, while enjoying a day filled with games, free food and lots of fun. A team of Chevron volunteers, including Chevron refinery general manager, Kory Judd, will be passing out free school supplies, manning carnival games and reading the Dr. Seuss classic, Green Eggs and Ham.

The Back-to-School Block Party brings the community together to support Richmond students to help them succeed in school. Chevron is committed to helping the Richmond community reach its greatest potential by making investments in education and providing our students with opportunities to get the quality education they deserve.

Below are the details for the event:

Date: September 19, 2013
Time: 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.
Location: Located at Nevin Center Park, 500 Macdonald Avenue, Richmond, CA (at the corner of 5th & Macdonald).

To be eligible to receive school supplies, students must be currently enrolled in elementary, middle or high school and must be present.

The Back-to-School Block Party is one of Chevron Richmond’s signature events during Chevron Volunteer Week. This year, there are over 50 projects in Richmond and the surrounding community that over 400 of our employees have signed up to participate in during the week of September 16. Each year, Chevron Richmond employees show their commitment to supporting the local community by volunteering thousands of hours with nonprofit organizations on various projects.
