Jim Hammack (JH): Jim Hammack, Owner and Chief Nerd, Nerd Crossing

RCOC: What type of business do you operate?
JH: IT support, web and marketing services, computer repair

RCOC: How long has your business been in operation?
JH: Started in January 2011 so just a little over 3 years

RCOC: What is your business’ mission statement?
JH: To provide honest, high quality technology services.

RCOC: Why did you choose to locate your business in Richmond?
JH: As a resident of West County, it was very important for me to start my business in the community that I live in and that I am actively engaged in.

RCOC: What has been your biggest challenge lately?
JH: Hiring the right people to keep up with our growth and our evolving business model.

RCOC: What do you love most about owning a business?
JH: Helping others. Putting people back to work, giving them their self-confidence and sense of worth back.

RCOC: What are your future goals for the businesses?
JH: We will continue to grow and open other strategic locations in the Bay Area, then the State, then the Country, and then globally. World NERD Domination.

RCOC: As a business owner, why do you choose to be a member of the Richmond Chamber of Commerce?
JH: Incredible networking opportunities. A sense of fellowship amongst other small business owners.

RCOC: What advice would you give to someone starting his or her own business?
JH: Deliver a high quality, customer focused product. Stay passionate about your company’s mission and vision. Execute with laser like focus. Persevere.
